Distantridge is the host site to the projects of Jake A-B. It doesn't actually do a great deal but does allow me to experiment with new systems.

Alongside the projects I create and host a variety of small websites. The server is a basic Amazon EC2 instance running Apache. I prefer to program sites in PHP and MySQL. Some of the sites I have created in the past include: Springlizard and Ashley-Brian Art for my parents. I was in the process of getting Quake remodeled for a HTML5 version of Quake as Snyper but unfortunately Uni work has taken over.

A bit about me:

I completed college in 2010 doing the International Baccalaureate at Alton College. I have been fortunate to compliment this whilst working at Alton Convent School as an assistant System Admin, and worked there full time becoming the sole IT administrator. Alongside this I continued to create websites and investigate web technologies such as jQuery and AJAX.

After discovering that my Android phone has native VoIP support I have been experimenting with my own VoIP system. I currently have Asterisk server running on voip.distantridge.com and hope to, at somepoint switch from my voice/data plan to just data and use VoIP with a PSTN connection.

I am now attending the University of Portsmouth to study Computer Engineering, and am currently taking a year in industry at Toranet

My favorite hobby is piloting light aircraft (Cessna C-152) and one day I hope to do something interesting with it (although AVgas is incredibly expensive)
